Vibeke
Sorensen
is an artist and professor working in digital multimedia and
animation, interactive architectural installation, and networked
visual-music performance. Her work in experimental new media
spans three decades, and has been published and exhibited worldwide,
including in books, galleries, museums, conferences, performances,
film festivals, on cable and broadcast television, and the internet.
She was also the Programme Chair for SIGGRAPH 2007 Art Gallery
“Global Eyes”.
In her talk “Global Eyes” Vibeke Sorensen will discuss
several transdisciplinary and transcultural media projects and
their relationship to visual culture, including the SIGGRAPH
2007 Art Gallery “Global Eyes”. Vibeke’s
talk is followed by a Blender open source demo and a SIGGRAPH
2008 preview screening. Take the opportunity to check out the
free open source pipeline for 3D animation production and get
a first impression of the content SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 will offer
you.
